Iván Reséndiz is a classical guitarist from Mexico City with a distinguished international career as a performer, educator, and cultural advocate. He studied at the Escuela Superior de Música (INBA) and later in Chicago with Norman Ruiz and Denis Azabagic, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees with honors.
He has won 13 international competition prizes and performed in prestigious venues across the Americas and Europe, including Jordan Hall (Boston), Maison de l’Amérique Latine (Paris), and Bösendorfer Hall (Salzburg).
His album Tales of the Journey honors the undocumented Latino community and features a range of styles, including world premieres. Reséndiz directs the Latin American Guitar Festival of Chicago and teaches at local schools and his own academy, which promotes accessible music education.
